Want to volunteer in the Philippines??

Are you interested in volunteering to help the underprivileged?

Do you want to learn about life on a farm, and learn new skills at the same time?

Do you love fresh, organic food, and making delicious regional dishes with it?

Bukid Buddies offers opportunities for both local and international volunteers interested in working with and helping Filipino farmers. You can choose to stay anywhere from a week to three months. We'll provide a full range of support, including:

  • Accommodation with a host family on one of the farms involved in our Farm-to-You fresh food subscription service.
  • Return travel from Manila (or closest city for local volunteers) to the farm*.
  • Training program on all aspects of farming life (varies with length of volunteer program).
  • An extra-curricular program including day trips and weekend visits to regional tourist destinations.
  • An optional one or two-week cooking class in Manila at the end of your program.
For international volunteers, we also have partnerships with several major tour operators in the Philippines and South-East Asia, so you can continue your experience beyond Bukid Buddies.

Prices start from $US385 for the one-week program. Contact us to discuss your interests and arrange a quote:

* International volunteers receive support to arrange flights but are responsible for covering the cost of the flight.

  1. Hi, I am very very interested in your volunteering program. It is very affordable and giving back is always a magnificent thing! I would also like to visit some of your beaches in the Phillipines - I hear they are gorgeous so am definitely interested in seeing them!!

Also, my friend's daughter is finishing high school and she and her friends are not interested in doing schoolie's week but would be very interested in doing a volunteering program like this. Do you have any programs tailored for high school students; maybe a bit longer than one week, where they learn about farming life, do some hard work!, meet their peers in the Phillipines, learn about cultivation, eating well and the raw food diet. I think it would be a magnificent opportunity for them. Do you have any school programs available yet? I think there is a great opportunity for you to develop some eco-friendly tourism and encourage what looks like a wonderful diet - raw food!

Also, I hear you need a lot of immunisations for the Phillipines? Is this true? Anyway I am going to tell my friends about this program. It sounds great!!! Thanks, Julie M.

  2. Yes I'm sure you'll find the lifestyle, weather and scenery in the Philippines amazing. Definitely worth a visit - and why not do some good while you're enjoying yourself?!

We can definitely cater to high school and 'gap year' groups as part of our volunteer program - we get a lot of interest from those groups and can build a program tailored for them.

Very wise to make sure all your vaccinations are up to date before visiting the tropics - here's some medical advice for travellers to the Philippines http://www.traveldoctor.info/vaccinations/philippines.113.html

    Thanks for your interest!
